Hello,

I just want to introduce myself in a short way.
first of all, my english is not so good, sorry for that.

My name is Thomas, age 40+, married, one son 1,5 years old.
I ride a XTZ 750 with now over 140.000 km,
Last year I took two month off (in Germany called "parent time") and travelled with my family 8 weeks through England, Wales and Scotland. On the trailer my XTZ and the KLE of my wife. Always one had to drive the car with my little son and the other could ride the bike.
The kindness of the people in GB had been fantastic. I really enjoyed this trip and it was wonderful to explore these countries...

Ooops, has been now a longer introduction..

Regards,
Thommy

Welcome to the forum, Thommy. Sounds like you really enjoy your riding. Have you done the whole 140,000km on the bike yourself? What problems have you had in all those kilometres? Any modifications to the bike?

Hi Thomas and welcome to the forum.. From the members map it looks like you have some great tracks/roads within riding distance. You'll have to post some pics.

Hello,

thanks for the kind replies.

@ Sundowner: I bought my XTZ with 15.000 km, after crashing my old XTZ with 100.000 km.
Defects of my last XTZ? On a trip in Romania, an english guy which I met with his BMW asked me the same. This was with 120.000 km. I said: Nothing! The next day, my XTZ didn`t want to run any longer due to dirt in the carburetor...
One diaphragm of the carburetor became defect with 130.000 km, when I was travelling through Albania to Istanbul. But it was possible to do the 3500 km home with half of the power...
Modifications: WP forks and rear WP- suspension, chain lube system, the so- called "Schweizer Abstimmung" for the carburetor, Sebring muffler and exhaust pipe from Kedo. That´s it.

@Lumiya: Yes, perfect region for great tracks. After work, you can take the bike and start directly with winding streets...
Also perfect: 120 km to France. There you have really small twisting tracks and nearly no traffic...
Yes, I`ll post some pics in the gallery...

I wish you the best

Regards
Thommy
